MONDAY MADNESS!!!

Invest in Yourself!

The "Invest in Yourself" Monday Resource Madness workshop series was created to assist participants with the struggles of sifting through tons of resource opportunities & careers online. When a person arrives back into their community from jail or prison you can be assured they will experience some anxiety, frustration, and become overwhelmed with searching for an occupation or a resource. Often the pressure from several Criminogenic Needs are amongst the risks within situations of recidivism. In order to eliminate barriers for the individual who is re-entering and does not know the employment landscape, Get Connected addresses the need of each individual seeking help with employment education & referrals.

The "Invest in Yourself" Monday Resource Madness workshop series is held every Monday from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. (CST).  Workshops can be attended online via ZOOM link HERE. Get Connected realizes how intimidating the reentry process can be, Join every Monday!

Technology Tuesday!

When the Technology opportunity comes knocking, you must open the door! Get Connected believes in moving technology forward by vowing to leave no one behind. This means our participants get up close and personal hands-on training in the World Wide Web and everything in between. Creating & formatting documents, attaching files, developing presentations, and online exploring is within each experience.  There is no question individuals feel like they do not belong when they are challenged with technology. The lack of literacy involved when a person becomes free to explore the world at their fingertips can be frustrating for some. A tech savvy person in the workplace could increase worker stability, boosts productivity, retention, and morale, which leads to a greater economy—but it may yet be a challenge for one to address.

Technology Tuesday sessions are held Tuesday's at 12:00 p.m.  Sessions can be attended in person or online. A registration form must be filled out in order to attend this session. Once you have completed the registration form, a confirmation email will be sent along with a link to join the meeting via ZOOM online meeting room. If you would like to attend an in person session, the location will be forwarded to you in a confirmation email once your registration is complete and you have chosen the in-person option. Court Support Services

are available for those individuals or family members who are not quite sure of how the justice system works but would like to support a family member or friend in need. GC Court Support services provides a volunteer advocate to go to court with you. Taking the pressure away from you feeling alone and abandoned throughout the process.
In Addition, the most important reason why GC offers Court Support services is because often times people walk into the court room and the Judge hears bits and pieces of their case by the State's Attorney's office and then a few words from the Attorney they've hired themselves or the Public Defender  Furthermore, people leave the courtroom still wondering what happened and what happens next. We offer support and referrals to legal help. If you or anyone you know needs assistance please fill out the form and receive a response within 24 hours to set up services.
